Vision   To be a superior faculty in developing human resources that oriented to future with commitment on changes and improvement in industrial technology, professional in education, research and community service to achieve khairo ummah’s (best community’s) characteristics. Missions   To create an institution that will be part of dakwah islamiyah based on Al-Quran and Al-Hadits in education, knowledge and technology, a place for an individual with ulil albab characteristics to expose themselves as khoiru ummah. To run teaching and learning system with information technology support and communication in modern higher education system framework that oriented to the development of knowledge and technology, maintain commitment on various implementation instruments to run qualified education. To create supreme human resources by the improvement of research quality and community service with technology innovation and creativity of knowledge’s implementation with adequate basic skill that oriented to human’s welfare, able to be motivator to economic growth and community’s welfare. University Size

  Currently, the university has about 20.000 students and each year about 3.300 new students are enrolled. From 40 academic programs, 26 are undergraduate including the five international programs, 9 professional, magister and doctorate programs and the rest are the diploma programs. Most of the programs are accredited as A (very good) and B (good) by the National Board of Accreditation (BAN-PT). Some academic programs, especially to which Islamic value could enrich the curricula, are deemed as one of our strongest offers to prospective international students. Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics (Management and Economics) for instance offer international programs where Islamic related subjects are offered such as Islamic Thought, Islamic Economics, Islamic Law, Indonesian Business Practices and Islamic Business Practices. Dual Degree with University of Wollongong (Australia) is also offered by Management and Economics Study Programs. Faculty of Medicine offers also subjects on Family Medicine and Islamic Medicine which could enrich international student in understanding general medicine in more comprehensive way. UII has cooperation and partner agreements with vari­ous foreign universities, with the aim of developing hu­man resources and implementing an effective quality management system. UII’s partner universities include, among others, Monash University Australia, Pai Chai University Korea, University of Karlsrühe Germany, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Tokyo Metropolitan University, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Cyprus, Rajamanggala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) Thailand, and Rajamanggala University of Technology Tawan-ok (RMUTTO) Thailand. UII also has cooperation agreements with a range of in­dustries and associations, in the form of scholarships, graduate recruitment, joint seminars and supporting equipment for laboratories. Partner industries and associations include Microsoft, SAP, PT. ASTRA, Exxon Mobile Oil, Cisco Net­working Academy, and Oracle.UII alumnus is well known and widespread throughout Indo­nesia. Prominent alumni include Prof. Dr. Moh. Mahfud, M.D as Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Byusro Muqqodas as Chairman of the Judicial Commission, Prof. Sarwidi, Ph.D and Prof. Widodo as national seismologists, and Dr. Sudi Fahmi as rector of Lancang Kuning University, Riau. Many mayors and re­gional leaders are also alumni of UII, such as Abdullah Tausikal (Regent of Central Maluku), Agus Salim (Regent of Mempawah) and Herry Zudianto (Mayor of Yogyakarta). Some UII graduates have become national figures, including Artika Sari Dewi (Miss Indonesia 2005), Ambar Polah Cahyono, Chairman of the Asso­ciation Furniture Manufacturers, and Wisnu Bayuaji of the Cook and Bayuaji, an architect consultant in Asia and Europe. This network of cooperation, as well as strong alumni, demon­strates a high level of trust from the public. We anticipate that this process will allow UII to fulfill its mission. Collaboration Opportunities

With regards to the long term plan towards a world class university, UII has collaborated with other institutions. Academic collaborations have been conducted with universities, both local and overseas. This has taken the form of student and staff exchange, joint research and internship programs. The student and staff exchange, along with joint research, has been conducted with Woosong University of Korea, Hokkaido University, Wollongong University, Hannseidel Foundation, Universitas Bina Nusantara, George Mason University, to name but a few. UII has also been working with International Internships in Australia to facilitate students from Australia to experience a working environment in Indonesia. The students come from Monash University, Sunshine Coast University, Macquarie University and Deakin University, among others. UII has agreement with the Australian Consortium for In Country Indonesian (ACICIS) which help students from Australia to take program courses in Indonesia. The collaboration covers the area of development in thought, such as the collaboration with International Institute of Islamic Thought on Epistemology. The collaborations are implemented not only at university level, but at department level as well. Hence, Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) FIT is very welcome to make any collaborations  with other universities, companies, institutions, organizations, associations, communities and individuals in the area of education, research, business,  etc. in order to gain mutual benefits. For example, every year students from Rajamangala University of Technology Tanyaburi (RMUTT) Thailand come to MED-FIT to take a two-month course works during inter-semester break. About University

Learning at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) or Islamic University of Indonesia is a process of investment in values, morality and scientific learning for students. This contributes to an improved environment in the future, as well as shaping human beings capable for the mission rahmatan lil ‘alamin. Guided by an innovative vision and supported by a long history of success, UII aims to achieve excellence in Indonesian education. UII was initially founded under the name of Sekolah Tinggi Islam (STI-Islamic Higher School) by some leading figures including Dr. Muhammad Hatta (the first Vice President of Indonesia), in Jakarta on 8 July 1945. STI became the first national university which then evolved into a university and renamed to Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) on Desember 14, 1947 to respond to the growing demand to integrate knowledge with spiritual teachings. During the National Struggle against the Netherlands occupation in Jakarta, UII moved to Jogjakarta but from that point gained opportunity to expand. In 1960s and 1970s UII expanded to cater as many as 22 faculties, which were located not only in Jogjakarta but also other cities such as Surakarta, Klaten, Purwokerto and Gorontalo. Later, those branches became the seed for later public universities in those cities. Since the 1990s, UII developed a 36 hectares Integrated Campus located in northern suburb Jogjakarta while maintains four major campuses in the city. This main campus with its milder and more pleasant climate is an excellent place to study and enjoy academic life. Mosque, sport hall, auditoriums, hospital and student convention center are among first-rate facilities available in the campus. Currently, UII as one of the leading Islamic universities in Indonesia and with its unique history and strong leadership could attracts thousand of students from all provinces of Indonesia.

Lomba Robot Line Maze Tingkat FTI UII

Perlombaan Robot kembali dihadirkan oleh Program Studi Teknik Mesin FTI UII pada tahun ini, penyelenggaraan lomba ini bertujuan untuk mendorong dan memotivasi mahasiswa Fakultas Teknologi Industri untuk aktif di pengembangan robotika. Harapan dengan adanya kegiatan ini mahasiswa yang terlibat aktif dalam bidang robotika menjadi lebih meningkat sehingga dapat mengembangkan iklim kompetisi.   Alasan dari dipilihnya lomba robotika adalah karena telah terdapat kontes-kontes eksternal yang telah berjalan rutin, sehingga dari pemenang dari lomba tingkat internal diharapkan menjadi embrio untuk pembentukan tim yang mewakili UII. Selain itu bahwa dalam pembuatan suatu robot melibatkan berbagai disiplin ilmu seperti desain produk, mekanika, kontrol, elektronika dan pemrograman komputer sehingga kegiatan ini dapat melibatkan mahasiswa dari hampir seluruh program studi di FTI. Hal ini dapat pula meningkatkan interaksi mahasiswa dari prodi yang berbeda, sehingga mahasiswa dapat belajar untuk bekerjasama dalam satu tim dengan latar belakang bidang ilmu yang berbeda-beda. Lomba ini dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, 5 Oktober 2013 di Hall Auditorium Gedung Mas Mansur. Dengan di ikuti oleh 15 tim ini acarapun cukup meriah dan banyak penonton dari mahasiswa FTI UII bahkan sebagian orang menyaksikan perlombaan ini dari lantai dua tepatnya di depan Dekanat FTI UII. Pada lomba ini, robot harus dapat bernavigasi untuk memecahkan suatu labirin garis (line maze). Pemenangnya adalah robot yang dapat menempuh labirin garis antara Start dan menuju Finish dan kembali ke Start dengan waktu paling cepat.

Line Maze Robot Competition Tingkat Fakultas Teknologi Industri UII

Latar Belakang : Penyelenggaraan lomba ini bertujuan untuk mendorong dan memotivasi mahasiswa Fakultas Teknologi Industri untuk aktif di pengembangan robotika. Diharapkan dengan adanya kegiatan ini mahasiswa yang terlibat aktif dalam bidang robotika menjadi lebih meningkat sehingga dapat mengembangkan iklim kompetisi. Alasan dipilihnya lomba robotika adalah karena telah terdapat kontes eksternal yang telah berjalan rutin, sehingga dari pemenang dari lomba tingkat internal diharapkan menjadi embrio untuk pembentukan tim yang mewakili UII. Selain itu bahwa dalam pembuatan suatu robot melibatkan berbagai disiplin ilmu seperti desain produk, mekanika, kontrol, elektronika, dan pemrograman komputer sehingga kegiatan ini dapat melibatkan mahasiswa dari hampir seluruh prodi di FTI. Hal ini dapat pula meningkatkan interaksi mahasiswa dari prodi yang berbeda, sehingga mahasiswa dapat belajar untuk bekerjasama dalam satu tim dengan latar belakang bidang ilmu yang berbeda-beda.   Waktu dan Lokasi Pelaksanaan : Lomba ini dijadwalkan akan dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, 28 September 2013.\ di Hall Auditorium Gedung Mas Mansur. Obyektif :Robot dapat bernavigasi untuk memecahkan suatu labirin garis (line maze). Pemenangnya adalah robot yang dapat menempuh labirin garis antara Start dan menuju finish dan kembali ke start dengan waktu tercepat. Arena :Arena labirin terdiri dari garis hitam dengan lebar 1.8 cm dengan latar belakang berwarna putih. Jarak antara dua tepi garis paralel minimal 20 cm. Jarak antara dua simpangan minimal adalah 20 cm. Semua belokan dan simpangan diusahakan memiliki sudut 90 atau 180 derajat. Tidak ada loops pada labirin, sehingga dapat dipastikan hanya akan ada satu rute dari START menuju FINISH. Lokasi START dan FINISH ditandai dengan bentuk bujur sangkar berwarna hitam dengan ukuran 20 cm x 20 cm. Tidak ada tanda khusus untuk jalan buntu. Ukuran labirin maksimal adalah 2 m x 3 m. Arena lomba akan diusahakan dalam keadaan rata namun robot peserta harus dapat mengatasi jika terdapat ketidakrataan pada arena. Layout labirin tidak akan dipublikasikan hingga saat perlombaan. Arena lomba akan dibuat dicetak pada bahan spanduk. Untuk keperluan kalibarasi dan testing akan disediakan contoh arena labirin yang dibuat dari material yang sama dengan arena labirin yang digunakan untuk perlombaan.Contoh arena labirin ini dapat dilihat di Laboratorium Mekatronika dan dapat dicoba dengan seizin dari Laboran (Mas Fariz Alfian). Robot akan memulai lomba di posisi Start menuju Finish dan kembali lagi ke Start. Robot :Robot haruslah bersifat autonomous. Tidak diperkenankan adanya koneksi kabel maupun nirkabel dengan perangkat lain. Catu daya yang dipergunakan memiliki tegangan maksimal 12 Volt. Dimensi robot maksimal adalah 20 cm x 20 cm tanpa batasan tinggi dan berat. Aturan Lomba : Robot yang dinyatakan sebagai pemenang adalah robot yang dapat menempuh waktu tersingkat dari start ke finish dan kembali ke start. Untuk robot yang dapat memperlihatkan kemampuan untuk mencari jalan terpendek saat kembali (dari finish ke start) akan memperoleh bonus berupa faktor pengali 0,8. Retry hanya diperkenankan jika robot melompat garis, telah kehilangan jalan, atau tidak bergerak. Juri akan menyampaikan saat suatu robot diperkenankan untuk retry. Robot dipersilakan retry jika dalam 10 hitungan tidak bergerak, dalam arti tidak berpindah posisi maupun berubah orientasi. Saat start robot memiliki waktu selambat-lambatnya 45 detik untuk bergerak. Jika telah 45 detik belum bergerak maka robot dinyatakan gugur untuk putaran tersebut. Tim yang melakukan retry akan memperoleh penalti berupa tambahan waktu 15 detik untuk tiap kali retry. Retry hanya diperkenankan maksimal 3 kali. Tim yang melakukan retry memulai lagi lomba pada posisi Start yang telah dilewati. Jika terdapat dua tim yang memiliki waktu sama, maka akan dipertimbangkan waktu waktu kembali. Tim dengan waktu kembali  lebih cepat dianggap lebih unggul. Waktu maksimal untuk satu putaran adalah 5 menit, lebih dari itu robot dinyatakan gugur untuk putaran tersebut. Aturan lomba akan mengalami perbaikan minor hingga saat Technical Meeting yang direncanakan akan diselenggarakan pada tanggal 27 September 2013 jam 15 dengan tempat akan diinformasikan kemudian. Hadiah Disediakan hadiah total Rp. 5.000.000,00 Peserta: Lomba ini terbuka untuk seluruh mahasiswa aktif semua prodi dari Fakultas Teknologi Industri Universitas Islam Indonesia, yaitu Teknik Kimia, Teknik Industri, Teknik Informatika, Teknik Elektro, dan Teknik Mesin. Setiap tim terdiri dari dua orang.
