Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) or Islamic University of Indonesia is located in Yogyakarta Province (Yogyakarta Special Region, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta – DIY), about one hour flight from Jakarta, the Capital City of Indonesia. D espite the official spelling, Yogyakarta is usually pronounced and not uncommonly written Jogjakarta or just Jogja. It is a major tourist destination in Indonesia which is in the southern part of the Central Java Province. More information about Yogyakarta can be found here.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, UII has been developing an integrated campus located in Sleman regency, in the northern suburb part of the province of Yogyakarta while maintains some major campuses in the city . Most of UII’s faculties and buildings will eventually be located on these 25 hectares of land.

1. Borobudur Temple
Borobudur is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument consists of six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues.A main dome, located at the center of the top platform, is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues seated inside a perforated stupa.
Borobudur is located in an elevated area between two twin volcanoes, Sundoro-Sumbing and Merbabu-Merapi, and two rivers, the Progo and the Elo, approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) northwest of Yogyakarta. According to local myth, the area known as Kedu Plain is a Javanese ‘sacred’ place and has been dubbed ‘the garden of Java’ due to its high agricultural fertility. 2. Prambanan Temple
Prambanan is a 9th-century Hindu temple compound in Central Java, Indonesia, dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva). The temple compound is located approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) northeast of the city of Yogyakarta on the boundary between Central Java and Yogyakarta provinces.It is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia.
Prambanan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is characterized by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture, and by the towering 47-metre-high (154 ft) central building inside a large complex of individual temples. More information about Prambanan can be found here.
